After plenty of debate back-and-forth, the SEC announced on Thursday that the conference will officially be moving to a nine-game conference schedule in football starting in 2026.
Previously, SEC schools had four games to schedule freely while being locked into eight conference games. Now, SEC schools will only have three games to freely schedule while being locked into nine games with SEC schools.
