Crews demolish long-vacant Forest Hills school
Crews began demolishing the long-vacant Forest Hills school building Wednesday, March 4, clearing the site for Paducah Public Schools’ planned solar field project. The Paducah Public Schools Board of Education approved a $134,250 demolition and abatement contract with Ascendant Facility Partners last month. District officials say construction on the solar field — funded by an $875,000 Department of Energy grant — is expected to begin March 16 and be completed by August.
