On Friday night, football season officially began under the lights of Carroll Traylor Stadium, as the Marshall County Marshals played host to the Crittenden County Rockets. After a shootout of a first half, with eight touchdowns between the two sides, the Marshals would lock things down in the second half to hold onto their lead, earning the 42-29 victory and a 1-0 record.
“This was a great job from our guys tonight. We were up against was a tough Crittenden County team, and they really took us down to the wire,†Marshall County head coach Nick Bloodworth said following the win. “Credit to them and their coaching staff, they played their guts out...Credit to our guys as well, there were times tonight where they could’ve caved in. But we stuck it out, played to the end, and I believe that’s what can be great about this team. It’s a great opening win.â€
