Set installation is underway on WPSD Local 6’s brand new, state-of-the-art studio inside the newly renovated ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Èí¼þ Sun building downtown. The set pieces arrived ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Èí¼þ evening, and installers began the process of building the set Tuesday morning. It will take a few days to complete construction of the main areas of the set, which include the weather authority and anchor desks. Those areas include LED lighting and numerous monitors for video playback and graphics, along with a sleek and modern design. Upon completion, the television news team — including production crew, newscast producers, reporters, anchors and meteorologists — will need time to practice in the new space. Paxton Media Group management anticipates launching newscasts on the new set in early July. Paxton Media Group leadership observes the installation process, including Vice President Eric Rudolph (left), President and CEO Jamie Paxton (center) and West Kentucky Media Group President Bill Evans on Tuesday. Additional photos are on Page A9.
