“Americans,†traveling exhibit provided by the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street program, will soon be on display at the River Discovery Center in downtown Paducah. According to the Smithsonian, the exhibit “highlights the ways in which American Indians have been part of the nation’s identity since before the country began.†Brought to Paducah through a partnership between the Smithsonian and Kentucky Humanities, organizers have also said the exhibit offers an opportunity for organizations in the community to explore how American Indian history is incorporated into local history. Representatives from the Smithsonian were hard at work Wednesday setting up the display inside the River Discovery Center. Paducah will host the exhibit Aug. 23-Sept. 27, after which it will travel to several other communities across the commonwealth. The River Discovery Center’s hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Èí¼þ-Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
