Gas prices have risen during the U.S. war with Iran and are averaging around $3.5 per gallon across Kentucky, up from $2.9 a year ago.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear cannot extend a May executive order that reduced the gasoline tax by 10 cents through June 30 for 37 municipalities.

“We’ve done this as long as we can,†he said Thursday, and called on President Donald Trump to “take action.â€
