Kentucky’s youth-only turkey hunting weekend typically comes when gobbling behavior by bearded toms is at its seasonal peak.

Here we go: It’s turkey time again, even if it is in a juvenile manner for the start.

Today is the opening of Kentucky’s annual youth-only spring wild turkey hunting season. The two-day season means that adult-overseen kids who have not yet reached age 16 can use shotguns (or bows or crossbows) to hunt turkey gobblers today and Sunday.
