Both deer movement and hunter participation were hampered by nasty to bitter cold weather in the closing days of archery and crossbow seasons.

Despite closing out with an arctic shiver, Kentucky’s 2023-24 deer hunting year produced a harvest that was considerably better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

When all was said and done — and the final session of the remnant archery and crossbow season seasons concluded ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Èí¼þ — Kentucky hunters through all weapons-based seasons had harvested 141,030 whitetails, according to the Telecheck reporting system.
