Ohio's biggest

Ohio’s biggest

Ohio 15-year-old Jaylynn Parker of Richmond recently caught this 101.11-pound blue catfish while jug fishing in the backwaters of the flooded Ohio River. The fish is a pending Ohio state record for the species and would be the heaviest ever documented in the Buckeye State. Parker’s whopper blue cat was 56 inches long and had a girth of 39 inches. The teen required family and friend help in retrieving the fish, getting it to official scales, and then releasing it alive back into the river.
