PADNWS-03-23-24 CWD CHANGES.jpg

Despite the finding of a CWD-infected deer last year, Kentucky hunters won’t face much different circumstances next fall when the venison quest comes up anew.

The way it is shaping up, deer hunting during 2024-25 seasons is not going to be remarkably different than it was in the past hunting year.

It felt like a massive makeover might have been coming — there were apprehensions of that — after a 2 ½-year-old buck taken in southwestern Ballard County on the opening day of the 2023-24 firearms deer season tested and re-tested positive for Chronic Wasting Disease.
