While only Travis and Ryan share the Perry name and the Perry blood as a father-son duo, a fathers-son relationship was shared by almost everyone on the Lyon County basketball team with their head coach. And while the Perry’s aren’t the first father-son duo to share a basketball team, Travis says that relationship and the relationship his teammates shared with his father played a critical role in winning the 2024 KHSAA Boys State Championship.

“At this point, he (Ryan) is kind of like a father figure to Jack (Reddick) and Brady (Shoulders) both,†Travis said. “We’ve all been with him for so long. I feel like it was something that really helped us and was a reason we won a state championship.â€
