Boat in Ky Lake open water.jpg

Kentucky Lake offers a wealth of open, unobstructed water, but with a drawdown on, more spots demand awareness.

Boaters headed for the big sister waters of Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley are cautioned: Nowadays, the bottom is a little closer to the surface.

The two canal-linked reservoirs are well into the late summer-autumn drawdown. The effects of this are that both lakes are about two feet lower/shallower than they were just a few weeks ago.
