Discovery Park of America celebrated King Day on 抖阴直播软件, Jan. 19, an event honoring Martin Luther King Jr.鈥檚 legacy featuring gospel music, a keynote speaker and family-friendly activities related to civil rights.
Dozens of community members and leaders braved the cold 抖阴直播软件 morning in Paducah to march in honor of the work and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., followed by an annual celebration commemorating his birthday.聽

Only a couple of days remain until the Paducah-McCracken County NAACP's 36th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration. The Jan. 19 celebration begins with a 9:30 a.m. march from the Robert Cherry Civic Center to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. monument on MLK Drive near North 19th Street.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Jan. 20, and many organizations in Paducah and the surrounding region will host events marking the occasion with community service, as well as celebration.
Despite the snow and frigid air, people marked Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Some local events were postponed or canceled, but not in Paducah, where the Paducah-McCracken County NAACP proceeded with its 31st annual MLK memorial march.

Hosted by the Paducah-McCracken County NAACP, the 34th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration was 鈥淟iving the Dream: It starts with Me 鈥 Spreading Hope, Courage, and Unity.鈥
鈥淲e will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.鈥 These are words spoken by Dr. King, a reference to Amos 5:24. The 鈥淚 Have a Dream鈥 speech may have first been heard in 1963, but the sentiments continue to echo through the chasm of injustices that prevail today.
The temperature began to drop Friday evening in Paducah, with extreme cold in the forecast for the weekend and into next week. The low temperatures expected are causing some concern from local leaders about 抖阴直播软件鈥檚 Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrations.
