The training had attendees commit to protecting women from violence and sign their names on a brick. The signed bricks symbolize a wall shielding women from harm.

Nearly 45% of women in Kentucky are victims of domestic violence, according to the Center for Women and Families. To address this, the Merryman House hosted the Nehemiah Project, which provided community members and law enforcement with training on how to assist survivors.
