A southern Illinois-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting neurodiverse people has teamed up with local law enforcement to provide free autism seat belt covers to the community.
has collaborated with the Metropolis and Paducah Police Departments to share the seat belt covers, which aim to alert emergency responders that an individual may have autism. The covers snap onto the seat belt and include a sleeve where medical or communication information can be stored.
