Enrollment in public schools dropped more than 20% nationwide from 2012 to 2022, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, which analyzed rates among students from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Kentucky experienced that drop, too. The state had a 4.6% decrease from 2012 to 2022.
