Kentucky Specialty Courts announced Wednesday that the McCracken County Drug Court has been certified under recently revised Supreme Court rules.

May is National Treatment Court Month, and Kentucky Specialty Courts marked the occasion with an announcement that the McCracken County Drug Court has been certified under recently revised Kentucky Supreme Court rules.

“The McCracken County Drug Court was established in 2005. Since that time, the Drug Court has grown significantly, and we have invested significant resources to ensure the program’s success,†McCracken Circuit Judge W.A. Kitchen said in a statement included in a news release announcing the certification. “Using an evidenced-based treatment approach to address substance use, Drug Court gives program participants the very best chance of ending the vicious cycle of drug use and subsequent involvement in the criminal justice system. I am grateful that our Drug Court has been recognized and certified as meeting the high standards expected of drug courts across the commonwealth.â€
