LEXINGTON — The Lexington Police Department says it has solved the November 1998 homicide of Linda Rutledge, a woman whose body was found inside a burning building in the Kentucky city.

On Nov. 7, 1998, around 7:40 a.m., the Lexington Fire Department was dispatched to the Nixon Hearing Aid Center in the 100 block of Malibu Drive for a structure fire. When crews arrived at the scene, they saw heavy smoke coming from the business and made entry. The fire was extinguished quickly, and a woman was found dead in the back hallway.
