CU to host exhibit, lectures marking ‘500 Years of Bible in English’

A copy of the 1611 King James version of the Bible, one of the first mass-produced English translation of the scriptures, is part of a free two-day public exhibit set for Aug. 25-26 at Campbellsville University.

CAMPBELLSVILLE — Campbellsville University will hold “500 Years of the Bible in English,†a two-day free exhibition and lecture series showcasing the evolution and history of the Bible in the English language.

The exhibit will include many rare and original English Biblical artifacts predating the famous King James Version. A series of lectures explaining this history and sacrifices associated with the translations also are planned.
