According to a March 2026 U.S. Census Bureau report, many counties across western Kentucky saw increases and decreases. The map above uses 2025 estimated population data and the April 1, 2020, population base.

Calloway County has had the largest population increase since 2020, while McCracken County has had the largest decrease, .

The March Census Bureau report — which estimates the population using the population base from the previous Census, births, deaths and migration — shows that Calloway County has gained more than 1,800 residents, resulting in an estimated overall population of 39,421.
