Caleb Wilson is the winemaker at Blue Sky Vineyard in Makanda, Illinois, and helped curate their special sparkling rose, Eclipse Crossroads. The name is a nod to the fact that the grapes used to make the wine were in the path of totality for the 2017 total solar eclipse and will be again for the 2024 eclipse.
Blue Sky Vineyard’s special eclipse wine is called “Eclipse Crossroads.†The wine is a bubbly rose made with grapes grown on the estate.

MAKANDA, Ill. — With just nine days until the total solar eclipse, an area vineyard is preparing for a busy event as it experiences the second such eclipse in the past seven years.
In 2017, Blue Sky Vineyard was in the path of totality, hosting an event that attracted more than 4,000 people.
