The Barkley Regional Airport Authority Board at their monthly meeting for April.
The Barkley Regional Airport Authority Board approved a project to build a new aircraft rescue and firefighting station and purchase a new fire truck to improve safety and expand operations.
Airport officials said the project will allow the airport to accommodate larger aircraft without relying on mutual aid from McCracken County Fire Services.
