PADUCAH — Nearly half of all U.S. adults have high blood pressure — a major risk factor for heart attack, stroke, kidney disease and even cognitive decline, including dementia, according to a release from Baptist Health Paducah.

In response to rising rates, the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology and several partner organizations have released updated guidelines for preventing and managing hypertension.
