MCCRACKEN COUNTY — After finding several notices posted on their front doors over the last few weeks, Lone Oak Manor tenants began questioning the complex’s management and financial handling. Now, some tenants allege utility assistance funds intended for residents were improperly withheld for years.

McCracken County Sheriff Ryan Norman confirmed Thursday that there is an active investigation into the alleged fraud of renter assistance funds at Lone Oak Manor — a complex that offers subsidized housing for low-income families. Some tenants stated that they were unaware that the utility funds even existed until the investigation began.
