A Carterville man employed at a local elementary school has been arrested on multiple felony charges after the case was uncovered during a separate investigation involving school personnel.

A summer camp nestled in Gilbertsville, near Kentucky Lake, has welcomed children from across the state for a week of recreation and education for more than 50 years.

A Graves County assistant commonwealth’s attorney was sent home for being under the influence on the job earlier this month. That attorney, John Beasley, was reported to the Kentucky Bar Association as required by the Kentucky Rules of Ethics.
Graves County dispatchers received 17 calls for residential fires across the county since the beginning of 2026, but investigators have not identified a common cause.
