Spring this year has outdone itself in Paducah with everything in bloom from early daffodils to even earlier pears. But it is the flowering dogwoods that Paducah will celebrate for the 60th year with its Lighted Dogwood Trail.

According to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, a flowering dogwood is ‘sometimes considered the most spectacular of the native, flowering trees … [a] multi-trunked tree with a spreading crown and long-lasting, showy, white and pink spring blooms.’ It also, is a Kentucky native.
