The corner of the world that I happen to live in grows more amazing daily. The pace of change is beyond what even our most brilliant minds can fully process. Even our most visionary leaders admit, when they are honest, that no one knows what we are unleashing on the world. Such is the nature of technology.

This has been the case for a long time. In Plato’s Phaedrus, Socrates tells us the response of King Thamus upon receiving the gift of writing from the Egyptian god Theuth, “This discovery of yours will create forgetfulness in the learners’ souls, because they will not use their memories; they will trust to the external written characters and not remember of themselves.â€
